In October 2023, Gippsland Social Enterprise Collective (GSEC) hosted a series of community hubs in Gippsland as part of the world-wide SEWF.
Ranging from Morwell to Lakes Entrance and Warragul, SENVIC were thrilled to join the worldwide conversation to address social and environmental issues.
Regenerative Tourism is the idea that tourism should leave a place better than it was before. Showcasing social enterprise, creativity and nature-based tourism, they explore the power of regenerative tourism to support regional communities on the frontline of the climate emergency.
We are thrilled that the World Wildlife Fund will partner with GSEC for a three-day ‘Innovate to Regenerate’ Local Learning Lab in November.
Making new connections on country
Students from Mallacoota P-12 College who were on day five of their Lake Tyers paddle expedition with ‘Up the Creek’ joined in the day, along with Year 9 students from the CATCH program at Lakes Entrance Secondary College.
The program included connecting young people with nature to sow the seed of careers in creative environmental stewardship, navigating with nature, ethical hospitality, creating meaningful livelihoods, discovering the FLOAT vessel, walking and talking.
