Tiara Shafiq brings a decade of experience in the arts, creative industries, and community cultural development towards their role as SENVIC’s Network Coordinator.
As Creatrix Tiara, Tiara works with creative arts & media, technology, games, community cultural development, and education to explore ideas around community, identity, liminality, belonging, and social justice, with a particular interest in bringing together disparate artforms in emerging and experimental ways.
Tiara was the Digital Media Coordinator for LGBTQIA+ community grants organisation Lesbians Incorporated, reinvigorating their grants program after a long hiatus through direct outreach and digitising their grants application system. Tiara was also part of the Editorial team for the Global Fund for Women’s IGNITE portal for women in STEM and was also on the San Francisco teaching team for Flag Stories, a youth arts & media collaboration between SOMArts (San Francisco) and the Islamic Arts Museum (Kuala Lumpur). Tiara also holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Inquiry from the California Institute of Integral Studies, a Bachelors of Creative Industries (Interdisciplinary) from Queensland University of Technology, a Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping from Swinburne University of Technology, and a Credential of Readiness from Harvard Business School.
