What is your hope for the future?

The biggest challenge is to get the seniors aware of this service. The service is free at shopping centres. Businesses interested in up-skilling their mature-age workers might find our approach interesting:
Mature-age workers have a wealth of experience, knowledge, and skills that are an asset to any workplace. However, they have not grown up with the same technologies as their younger counterparts. As a result of this, many find adopting new technology to be a daunting task, affecting their confidence, productivity, and relationships with colleagues. Our vetted Youngsters are here to help mature-age workers learn the tech skills they need to work effectively. Whether you need 1:1 sessions for specific employees or group sessions to train everyone on a new system, we’ve got it covered!

What is your trading activity?
ActionSkills specialise in creating simple, yet powerful websites and campaign tools that everyday people can use.

We have been supporting small to medium sized non-profits and change makers for over 21 years, so we understand what works in the real world.

Training and mentoring is at the core of our approach, allowing you to build the skills to independently manage your websites and campaign tools.

We also provide ongoing management of systems and we are always here to support and sort out the hard bits.

What’s the social or environmental cause your enterprise addresses?
Supplying low cost IT strategy and services to small NFPs and community groups to increase their effectiveness as these services are inaccessible to many smaller groups

Increase the number of people in the NFP community with relevant technological skills to implement and run IT systems as there is a shortage of these skills.

We plan to run training and mentorship programs to achieve these aims.

What is the biggest challenge?
Sourcing funding to setup and run our big picture plans. We are currently running as a more traditional agency in the short term to fund our costs and implement smaller projects.

What’s the social or environmental cause your enterprise addresses?
Jigsaw is about reshaping the pathway to open employment for Australians with disability.

Different from a Disability Employment Service, Jigsaw’s holistic approach starts from the very basics of work-readiness training all the way through to supported transition to mainstream employment. It ensures our trainees gain transferable skills relevant to every workplace and paid professional experience along the way.

All of Jigsaw Digital’s services are delivered by people with disability, paid at award-wage. Just 53% of people with disability are employed, compared with 83% in the mainstream. Jigsaw’s work-based employment pathway, which takes people through work-skills training, paid work experience and support to transition to a mainstream job, addresses the system barriers behind this imbalance.

When a customer uses Jigsaw Digital’s services, they are contributing to a future where people with disability are fully included in the Australian workforce.

We believe people prepare best for work, through work!

What is your hope for the future?

Jigsaw has a very simple vision for the future: an Australia in which people with disability are fully included in the workforce. We believe people prepare best for work, through work.
