Purpose Precinct
The Purpose Precinct at the iconic Queen Victoria Market, puts social enterprises in front of nine million visitors a year.
Launched in December 2022 by Good Cycles and STREAT with the support of SENVIC, the Purpose Precinct has created opportunities to showcase how social enterprise is transforming business as usual in Victoria.
The Purpose Precinct brings all Victorian social enterprises under one roof, to showcase not just their products but also their people, to do good and create a fairer and more sustainable world. Stocking over 50 social enterprises, every purchase creates employment, opportunities and income for social enterprises creating meaningful change in our world through their business.
Moving Feast Pantry and STREAT Cafe
In June 2024, two new spaces opened at the Purpose Precinct at Queen Victoria Market! The Moving Feast Pantry is a retail space focused on social enterprise food and pantry products, as well as selling delicious circular products coming out of the Moving Feast Kitchen a few doors down. These products have been incubated and tested by Eco-Chef Chris Locke, and created from unsold and overripe produce from the market’s stallholders. Right next door, a new STREAT Cafe is proudly serving STREAT’s specialty coffee, grab’n’go lunches and providing training and work readiness experience to marginalised youth.
