The SENVIC Local Leads program enabled statewide coverage of all 11 Regional Victoria and Suburban Development regions, aiming to:
1. Build a connected community of social enterprises
2. Facilitate access to learning and development opportunities and capacity building
3. To increase the voice and influence of social enterprise.

This initiative was a key component of SENVIC’s regional operating model, which served to appoint 5 Local Leads in each of Victoria’s five regional economic development regions – Barwon Southwest, Gippsland, Grampians, Hume and Loddon/Mallee.

Each Local Lead developed and implemented a Local Action Plan in partnership and supported by SENVIC staff. Within this framework, each Local Action Plan reflected the needs, opportunities and context of each region/community.

The Local Lead system provided immense value, including:

• The establishment of new relationships, extension of networks, and stronger relationships with collaborators
• Increased understanding of social enterprise across various sectors
• Exchange of resources, reflecting of activity and celebrating progress

Our Metropolitan Local Lead system consisted of 6 different metropolitan regions – Inner South-East, Eastern, Northern, Western, Inner Metro and Southern.

This grassroots approach ensures that SENVIC represents the interests of our diverse sector and can respond to local challenges and opportunities.
