DAVID BROOKES: Managing Director, Social Traders
David is a Director and Company Secretary at Social Enterprise Australia, the national peak body for social enterprise. He is also Chair of Helm Youth Services. David was the former Managing Director & CEO of Social Traders and was a previous Director of the Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) Community Interest company. David came into the for-purpose social enterprise sector from a background in policy development, advocacy and strategic stakeholder engagement in the Australian corporate sector, having held senior management roles at Rio Tinto, Toyota and Amcor. He led strategic community investment programs at all three companies. David also has experience in economic development and industry policy from roles with local government and a major industry association in the early phase of his career.
