Social Enterprise Australia have announced that this year the social enterprise sector saw itself named for the first time in the federal budget, with the $11.6 million Social Enterprise Development Initiative.
It has two parts:
– Capability-building grants
– Online education and mentoring
Social Enterprise Australia has been engaged by the Department of Social Services to gather stakeholder views on these two parts. For each, they will host workshops and a survey to test and hear levels of support to inform the Department’s design.
The online education and mentoring will be to support the capability of the ecosystem to grow social impact, including to improve their ability to unlock capital for impact and to participate in the social impact investment market.
