Social Enterprise Breakfast with Manningham Business Network

9 April @ 7:15 am - 9:00 am

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

EMPOWERING CHANGE

‘Social Enterprise’ is a term often given to a business such as a charity or Rotary-type organisation which exists to solve community social problems.  It differs from

a profit-making concern that exists for its shareholders/owners while meeting its corporate social responsibility.

Our April Business Breakfast gives us an opportunity to understand better the valuable roles that Social Enterprises play in our society … and how we might Share, Learn & Grow by participating in their schemes.

We are all aware that there are numerous means we can follow in employing staff.  Several may not be ‘mainstream’ avenues and one of these is through not-for-profit Belonging Matters who operate a Community Employment Partnership (CEP) program focussed on individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.

MBN is very pleased to have two speakers allied with this program – Patricia Wilson (Belonging Matters) and Warwick Cavill (Rotary) – who will share their expertise in how business owners, the disabled and others can benefit from contributing to improvement in the social and economic fabric of our community.

Some of the insights Patricia and Warwick will bring include:

  • Understanding how business owners can help build an all-inclusive, diverse workplace environment
  • Discovering how the CEP program can enrich local businesses by tapping into a sometimes forgotten but very valuable employment pool
  • Demonstrating the profound impacts/rewards possible for all participants.

So don’t delay – BOOK HERE! – and join us for another very valuable MBN meeting on 9 April 2024.  Yes, it’s a time to explore your own corporate social responsibility!!

MBN thanks our Major Partner, Manningham Council, for their support in this event.
