Enterprise name  The Oranges Toolkit

What’s the trading activity  The Oranges Toolkit builds resilient, mentally healthy and change-ready workforces via effective, evidence-based, measurable and practical wellbeing programs.

We partner with public and private sector organisations to build employee wellbeing, mental health and resilience so their staff can perform at their best. When staff feel at their best, they are more engaged, productive, collaborative and able to think more innovatively and creatively. This results in better business outcomes such as reduced turnover and absenteeism, increased productivity, better engagement levels and improved financial returns.

The Oranges Toolkit framework uniquely applies the latest research in positive psychology, neuroscience and emotional intelligence across seven segments: Optimism, Resilience, Attitude (mindset), Now (mindfulness), Gratitude, Energy and Strengths. We offer highly engaging and experiential training programs, both live and virtual, with practical tools to embed knowledge and organisational change.

As Camp Quality’s social enterprise, 100% of the profits go towards supporting kids facing cancer in Australia.

What’s the social or environmental cause your enterprise addresses?

The Oranges Toolkit’s cultural and social impact is delivered in two ways:

– via wellbeing and resilience-building programs provided to business leaders and professionals within large organisations and government departments, and

– through profit returned to Australia’s most reputable children’s cancer charity*, Camp Quality.

Our measurable wellbeing, leadership and resilience-building programs improve employee engagement, prevent mental ill-health and enable business leaders to lead agile, high performing teams. Program participants report that our practical tools improve wellbeing in their personal and professional lives.

The Oranges Toolkit’s engaging workshops, virtual learning and coaching services encourage leaders and organisations to realise individual and organisational potential through the practical application of positive psychology, neuroscience and emotional intelligence. More than 50 organisations and 3000 Australian professionals have benefitted from The Oranges Toolkit since its inception in 2017.

All profits from The Oranges Toolkit go to Camp Quality to support kids facing cancer in Australia. Camp Quality provides opportunities to create positive memories and change the cancer story for kids aged 0-13 and their families: in hospital, at home, at school and away from it all.

*Camp Quality is proud to be Australia’s most reputable children’s cancer charity for kids aged 0-13 as per the Australian Charity Reputation Index 2019.

What is the biggest challenge?

The mental health of employees is a huge challenge for businesses – there is no more important time to develop mental health and wellbeing in Australia.

• Almost half (45%) of the Australian population between 16-85 are likely to experience a mental disorder at some time in their lives, with almost (20%) of them likely to experience a mental disorder in the previous 12 months. Importantly, these statistics are pre-COVID (National Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing, 2007)
• Professor Allan Fels suggests mental health is more significant for our economy than tax and micro-economic reforms. Additionally, a 2014 PwC report suggested that actions to create a mentally healthy workplace can expect an average positive return on investment (ROI) of $2.30 to every dollar.

Building resilience of individual employees is key to fostering a mentally healthy and high-performing workforce.
